Preparation for the Journey

A quest is a long or arduous search for something. To quest is to hunt or pursue after something.  Are you on a quest for something or someone?

Well as seminarians, Sunday School teachers, lay leaders and mighty women of God, we are all acquainted with through our biblical reading, a Sunday School lesson, retreat session or preached messages on Mother's Day/Women's Day the infamous woman outlined in Proverbs 31.  Some of us may have already had someone identify us as a "Proverbs 31 Woman" based on our Christian walk.

Well, I invite you in this new year of 2012 to join me as I embark upon an intense examination of the original biblical text of Proverbs 31 as a renewed commitment to be the woman God desires of me.  In preparation for the journey, I invite you this week to identify the desert places in your life and have a little talk with Jesus surrendering ALL!!!

Every Friday we will examine the Scriptures and commit to meditating and actually walking the Word of God out for the week.  Our brother James would be proud to know that we are actually hearers and doers of the Word!!!

Who is this woman?  Why is this woman our desired Christian model of womanhood?  What are the practical steps we can take to be more like this praiseworthy woman of God.  Let the quest for Proverbs 31 womanhood begin!!!

Will you join me, sistahs?

In the words of DJ Unk, "Let's Walk It Out?"

Next Week's Topic: "Portrait of the Woman"

God Bless!!!
Minister Anna P. Shankin
